F1 Code On Kenmore Oven

When I turn the power on the the oven the lower heating element will burn bright red no matter what temp the oven is on. It did this 2 years ago and I turn the breaker off and back on

If you see the F1 code on your Kenmore range you should check the oven temperature sensor to ensure it is working properly. If the sensor is damaged or not working correctly you will need to replace it. You can find the oven temperature sensor in the back of the oven. Once you have replaced the sensor the F1 code should disappear.

2. Check Thermal Fuse. On most dryers a thermal fuse is the safety device that burns out and causes the machine to stop working when the heat gets too high.

My Kenmore range 790.79212301 has been giving a sporadic F1 for several months now. It seemed like it was getting worse so I replaced the oven temp sensor no improvement. I decided to go with replacing the clock comp. I plugged the new part in and powered it up immediate F1.

I have had this machine not quite 24 mos. I am looking for part number or numbers. When you start the washer it seems fine then stops shows F1 and beeps. I have followed the manual but this is now happening with every washload. I have read this is common among many others but I refuse to deal with Sears anymore.

I ran the diagnostic sequence and had a primary failure code of F11 Motor Control Unit Error and also a couple of F1 codes EEPROM or Pump Driver Error . During the subsequent test program everything worked except the where the drum is supposed to be moving. Removed the wiring harness from the motor and verified 6 ohms between pins 1-2 2-3 1-3.
